Hey!

Found you guys on DoDIY.org. My band Valise and another band called Mountain sounds are coming through LA Nov 8th-9th, and we would love a place to play if you have anything available. We’re from Dallas, TX and Portland, OR respectively. We’re indie rock. Death Cab and Wilco with a bit of ambience.

You can check us both out here:

Hi I’m in Hot Karate and we are your neighbors! We are interested in playing here. Below is our bio! Please let us know if you have any open slots.

BIO:

Hot Karate is a power trio hailing from Highland Park, Los Angeles.

Rob Krauss (guitar) melds harmony and melody in dense riffs; Cyrus Ghahremani (bass and vocals) provides both rhythm and solo work over soaring vocals; and Adam Subhas (drums) brings everything together with a background in jazz and blues.

Since its beginnings in 2010 as a casual jam, Hot Karate has grown into a serious effort to write progressive, catchy, and instrumentally complex rock. The previous records have been reviewed as “earth-shattering” and “fun to listen to, upbeat, in-your-face music”. Each song presents something tonally or rhythmically challenging and irregular, yet it always grooves, and never feels mathematic.

Our third release “FINGER FOOD” (2013) showcases our style and songwriting at its best, representing our evolution as a band with a diverse and well-rounded selection of songs that span from unique epics to perfect summer themes.

We are right down the street from your venue and we’d love to play! I hope you can get back to us and we can set something up

Hi Charon & Wonderful Crew at the 157-

MERLE WORLD - A NIGHT OF WILD FILMS AND SURPRISES

I was wonderful if there are any weekend dates available in September to throw a curated film night? Our magical friend, Merlin, hosts nights full of strange and beautiful films and other short pieces (music & psychedelic videos) . Lots of people are interested and we would also to have great DJs (facebook.com/BarMitzvahDisco) and other musical numbers (small band or entertainer) between each screening.

The event would start around sunset and go on from there. We would bring in all of the musicians and help promote the event, profusely.

Recently Megan and I helped cater the anniversary party and make some food if appropriate. Our company is Plants Party (facebook.com/plantsparty) and we prepare all vegan and gluten-free snacks, deserts and dishes.

So we would love a Friday or Saturday night in September. Maybe towards the mid to later part of the month?

Thanks for your consideration and we look forward to working with you, in addition to spending quality time at the space!

Best,

Dan Goldstein

Slay the Phoenix is interested in booking with HM 157. Slay is a dark & experimental female fronted band who has been playing shows in the Los Angeles area since January 2013. Italian artist/painter Francesca Bifulco would be a live guest painter for our set if you could accommodate this. Living in Los Angeles as a collective of experimental musicians/artists - we are always looking to meet and join with other eclectic minded people. We are looking to book dates in August, October or November of this year. If you would like any other information or details from our live gig resume please feel free to email us.

Hello, I’m a solo cellist/singer-songwriter from Denver interested in booking at HM157. I played there a few years ago with Emily Blong. The Dates I’ll be in the LA area are August 1st - 4th. I’ve been featured in Spin Magazine and named Best Band of 2009 by the Denver Post. I’ve played In LA every summer for the past 5 years, so I can bring a few people, but not a ton. Is there a show underway for any of those dates that you might need an opener for? My website is iancookemusic.com. Let me know at your convenience if we can set something up and how I can help. Thanks!

I am getting in touch regarding booking Violet Nova to open at HM157. The band is looking forward to the release of their first EP this Summer, and is looking to play shows around Southern California in support of the release. Violet Nova is made up of four musicians (vox/guitar/bass/drums) playing a mix of indie rock and boss nova. We feel that HM157 is a a perfect fit for the band I as it starts to make a name for itself in the area.

We hope to play HM157 anywhere from July to late September, if any dates in that span work for HM157 to have Violet Nova jump on a bill as an opener.

Please check out Violet Nova at the link(s) below:

Looking forward to hearing from you and getting a chance to play HM157!

I am a multimedia artist/musician, and am in the process of booking summer shows for my band PRESENT. We are a non traditional trio - female vocals, atonal synth and electric piano, driving polyrhthmic drumming - and have a recently recorded a demo up on BANDCAMP.

Until recently I have performed in the LA improvisational music/installation and performance group, BOW+ARROW.

A gig any time between June and the end of August (as our singer is pregnant) would be greatly appreciated.

-Cheers

Hey there.

This is Aaron from Mouser again. I just wanted to touch base on this video series collaboration. I was speaking with Peter about shooting at HM157 and I have Maston and Jamaican Queens confirmed to shoot sessions relatively soon but Peter has dropped out of contact and I thought I’d make a last attempt to see if we can’t work on this project together before I search for another location.

I hope we can make it happen!

Best,

Aaron

Hello! I am pianovan.com. thanks for following me on twitter. I would love to work with HM157, either playing quiet music, teaching piano or creative writing (I’m also a widely published author), or otherwise working with the collective. You have something beautiful going on, and I’d love to join forces.

It’s pretty psychedelic. We also play some pretty interesting videos for each song in our set. Here’s a link to what we do: http://earthlikeplanets.bandcamp.com/">http://earthlikeplanets.bandcamp.com/

Hopefully you will contact us soon to set up a show! Thanks so much!

My name is Ali Holder, I am out of Austin, Texas. I am routing a run out to California in June and was wondering if you had anything available Friday June 21st or Saturday June 22nd or Sunday June 23rd? My friend Celia Hollander suggested y’all as a great venue to play.

I am travelling as a duo act with another musician named Jacob Jaeger.
